This week’s House Fellowships:

Our next outreach event is Family Skate Night on Sunday September 28th from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Invite your family, friends and coworkers! Admission is free. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Our new grades 1 – 5 Sunday School takes place at 9:30AM on Sundays in the Nursery room. The full schedule for all kid’s services is on the website.

Our One Hope Soccer team is on for the YWCO soccer leauge! Games start next week, are played after our Sunday Service right outside and continue for a few months. While we have enough players, we are looking for 1-2 more women if possible. Even if you’re not playing, staying to support our team and outreach with other folks is encouraged.

Marcus is gauging interest in a One Hope coed soccer team to enter into the YWCOs soccer league this fall. Matches take place on Sunday afternoons and begin on Sunday, Sept. 7. The team would be semi competitive and it would cost about $55 a person depending on how many people we get registered (aiming for 10). Registration closes Sept. 1 so we’d like to have our team settled by today. If you’re interested in participating, please let Marcus know via text or Slack message as soon as you can.

Fall 2025 House Fellowship Schedule

Our House Fellowships are opportunities for Bible study and prayer outside of Sunday morning service. Everyone at One Hope is encouraged to make regular attendance of a House Fellowship a priority if at all possible!

We have three House Fellowship events throughout the week and will start this schedule on Sunday, August 17. For directions, please ask anyone helping lead our Sunday service.

This fall, we will be reading and discussing Deuteronomy and Joshua. See the end of this post for the schedule of what chapters will be covered which weeks.

Student Cookout: Our Welcome Event for Students (Fall 2025)

If you are a college student looking for a church home in Athens, Georgia, we invite you to come to One Hope Church’s cookout on Saturday, August 16!

The details:

We are a local church in Athens, Georgia. We’re made of multiple generations and many walks of life, all united by a desire to respond in faithfulness to the gift of salvation given to us in Jesus’s death and ressurection.

We make a point to be an involved community and love integrating students. In fact, many of our 20- and 30-somethings attended a college in the area and decided to stay!

We are non-denominational, Elder-lead, and we practice, primarily, expository teaching and preaching (selecting a book of the Bible and teaching through it verse-by-verse).

Our next outreach event will be a College Student Cookout on Saturday August 16, from 5PM – 8PM here at the YWCO. The goal is to invite college students to consider One Hope for their church home in Athens, so the whole church family is invited, and please invite any college students in the Athens area. We need two more helpers – one for food prep and one for setup. We have an Instagram / Facebook post, and a blog post, that you can send to folks.
